Our story begins with Calvin, an 8th grader. Calvin was about 10 years old when he came to The Bethlehem Center.
With a brother and several family members in gangs, he knew and desired life in the streets, and was afraid to read in public because he was struggling in school.
The Beth became a part of Calvin's life. He does not want to be on the streets, he wants to learn and he wants to be involved. Since then, he's been on two leadership trips with the V-Team and his personal skills have improved. By staying involved in programs, and having mentors to help guide him in the right direction, Calvin is on the right track. He is a much happier youth and he is transforming into a young man.
Hope is to desire with expectation of obtainment.
Hope is Calvin.
