"Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." Proverbs 29:18

Many of you already know that reading and math education are the primary components of The Bethlehem Center's programs that target first through eight grade children from low-income families.
This decision has been in place since the foundation of The Bethlehem Center over 94 years ago when Mrs. Miriam Brock began offering educational classes for African-Americans, and Mrs. Sallie Crenshaw opened her day care.
Our mission is to empower inner-city youth and families to lead responsible lives by providing character development, education, leadership development, and economic empowerment.
From June to July, we are moving forward with this mission by providing a 6-week education-centered summer program for at least 120 youth.
Every day from Monday to Thursday, we commit to spending 4 hours teaching the children in the areas of reading and math. Our goal is for 100% of students to read at or above grade level in reading, and to have a C average or above in Math by the end of the 6-week summer program.
We acknowledge that our power as an organization is in our ability to leverage support to make gains in a mission that betters the community. Literate young adults have the ability to change the world for good, especially if their foundation is rooted in Truth.

Can you commit to praying for the Summer Academy daily, once a week, or even once-monthly?
Can you give $30 toward the Summer Academy? That's $1 a day to make sure that a child will receive intentional investment into his education, so that he does not fall further behind this summer.
We thank you for your continued support, and cannot wait to update you on the impact of your prayers and financial investment.
